The feature in Klartext on 22 May 2024 was about Norway, Spain and Ireland having recognized the state of Palestine.
– Palestine consists of several areas inside the country of Israel, that is the Gaza area and then parts of the West Bank, said a reporter.
In its statement to the review committee, Sveriges Radio wrote, among other things, that Klartext conveys news in a simpler way. According to Sveriges Radio, the purpose of the wording was to geographically point out where Gaza is located rather than to say anything about Palestine's state or national affiliation.
However, the review board judges that this description was incorrect as Palestine borders Israel but is not inside the land of Israel.
