Foreign. A new poll by the Brookings Institution and the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) shows that over a third of Americans agree with Donald Trump's claim that illegal immigrants are “poisoning the blood” of the United States.

According to the survey, which was conducted between August 16 and September 4, 2024, 34 percent of respondents believe that illegal immigrants “poison the blood in our country”.
Among 61 percent of Republicans agree, while 30 percent of independents and only 13 percent of Democrats agree with the statement, The Guardian reports.
Robert Jones, PRRI's founder, warns against the rhetoric, linking Trump's language to Nazi propaganda.
– This language comes straight from Mein Kampf. It's Nazi rhetoric, he said during the presentation of the results.
Trump made the controversial move during a campaign rally in New Hampshire in December 2023.
