The successor to Yahya Sinwar, who previously led Hamas, is not expected to be revealed until March of next year at the earliest.
Instead, for the time being, Hamas will be governed by a committee consisting of five members: Khalil al-Hayya, Khaled Meshaal, Zaher Jabarin, Muhammad Darwish and an anonymous person.
According to the source, it is al-Hayya who has assumed most of the leadership responsibilities and acts as acting leader.
