Arbetsförmedlingen woman did not go to work for 19 years

Domestic. A woman who was employed at Arbetsförmedlingen has finally been fired – after being absent from her job for 19 years.

The woman, who was employed in 2000 as an economist in the HR department, was on sick leave in 2005. Since 2010, she has been on leave without pay.

The employer only started measures to return the woman to work in 2023, but she proved difficult to reach. After repeated attempts to contact her and an extension of the leave until June 2024, the woman disappeared again and has since been absent without permission.

After further unsuccessful attempts to reach her, the Employment Service decided in August to terminate her employment. Despite the dismissal, the authority has still not managed to get in touch with the woman to find out what happened, Expressen writes.
