A quarrel has arose after SKMA once again singled out SD for anti-Semitism. In a debate article in Aftonbladet last Friday, Jimmie Åkesson and several other SD leaders labeled SKMA as a political opponent who engages in slander.
“In light of this, we hereby want to declare that from now on we consider SKMA as a political actor, whose activities largely consist of forming opinions against the Tidö collaboration in general, and the Sweden Democrats in particular,” they write.
The SD leaders also state that it is “a political agenda, rather than concern about growing anti-Semitism” which has been SKMA's driving force.
“It is therefore entirely appropriate to call their opinion a 'party submission'. We value what SKMA expresses in different contexts as the same level as if it were any political opponent. “
But SKMA is now backed by the heavy Jewish institution Jewish Central Council.
– SKMA has a very high reputation. Their members are both Jews and non-Jews. The organization has a very matter-of-fact approach to anti-Semitism and consists of people who have expert knowledge of anti-Semitism, says Jewish Central Council chairman Aron Verständig to Dagens ETC.
