Riverside Sheriff County, Chad Bianco, declared on Sunday that the police “prevented another attempted murder”, while federal authorities played down the suspicions.

The Secret Service and the FBI are not investigating the case as an assassination attempt, but believe that the man likely had the weapons with him himself in self-defense, reports the New York Post.

It is pointed out that Miller is a member of the anti-government right-wing movement Sovereign citizens.

Miller, who tried to enter the meeting with fake press ID, was stopped when police discovered his car was unregistered. Upon searching the vehicle, police found fake passports, driver's licenses, and an arsenal consisting of a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine.

Despite this, Miller was released on $5,000 bail after been reported for weapons offences.
