Boys' team in Borås found murdered man at the field – match was cancelled

Domestic. A boys team match in Borås had to be abruptly stopped on Saturday morning when a dead man was found next to the football pitch, reports P4 Sjuhärad.

A passerby discovered the man who was later identified as being in his 20s.

The police and ambulance were called to the scene at 09.39, and the match was immediately abandoned. The next of kin have been notified of the death.

A preliminary investigation into murder has been launched, but at the moment there is no suspect.

Police spokesperson Jens Andersson states that the crime likely occurred during the night. The area around the football pitch has been cordoned off for a technical investigation, and the police are gathering information through interviews with witnesses and local residents.
