Here's the new “If War Comes”

Domestic. The authority for social protection and preparedness, MSB, in collaboration with the Armed Forces and other authorities, has produced a new version of the brochure “If the crisis or the war comes”. It will soon be sent out to all households in Sweden.

– It is designed to prepare the Swedish people for the new security policy situation, that the military threat has increased, with war in our immediate area, and that Sweden is an ally in NATO. It is about total defence, which is a matter for everyone, says Michael Malm, at the Swedish Armed Forces' total defense section.

The new brochure covers more areas than the previous one from 2018 and has a greater focus on our preparedness for war. It gives concrete advice on how to prepare for both crisis and war and how to act if something serious happens.

– The brochure should contribute to increasing the population's resilience and ability to deal with crisis and war. The ambition is for it to be easily accessible and a concrete support for everyone who lives in Sweden. In crisis and war, we need to stick together and make use of our collective strength, says Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, director general at MSB.

The printed brochure will be sent out as of November 18.

– The printed version of the brochure starts to be sent out during week 47 and the mailing continues for two weeks. We present it digitally already now. The aim is to create recognition so that everyone looks out for the brochure when it arrives and knows that it is important to read it, follow the advice and save it, says Charlotte Petri Gornitzka.
