Åkesson: “Many people with Swedish passports should not have Swedish passports”

Domestic. Sweden Democrats' party leader Jimmie Åkesson is now sharpening the tone regarding Swedish citizenships given to third world immigrants.

– We have a lot of Swedish passports that should not have Swedish passports, said Jimmie Åkesson in a debate with S leader Magdalena Andersson in SVT's “Aktuellt”.

The debate was about the government's handling of the thousands of so-called Swedes who chose to stay remained in the country despite repeated warnings from Swedish authorities.

Magdalena Andersson put forward the opinion that Sweden should at least evacuate children from the war-torn country. But Åkesson instead focused on why there are a lot of “Swedes” in Lebanon at all.

– So you have come to Sweden as a refugee, then you have chosen to go back to a country you fled from , he said and continued:

– Then I wonder: What on earth do you do there?

Jimmie Åkesson did not dismiss the idea that children with Swedish citizenship could from their parents.

– If you as a parent choose to take your children to Lebanon, then you might not be a very good parent. Then maybe social authorities should get involved, he says.
