In May, Jomshof was reported to the police for incitement against a ethnic group by the so-called Nähatasgranskaren after sharing cartoons critical of Islam on social media.< /p>
Chief prosecutor Joakim Zander recently unexpectedly decided to drop the investigation. This after Jomshof explained in questioning that the aim was to participate in a debate about migration, not to single out immigrants as criminals.
The cyber threat inspector has now appealed the decision, and the case will be reviewed by the Development Centre, a department which functions as a second legal instance within the Public Prosecutor's Office. However, changes to prosecutors' decisions in such cases are rare.
Neither Zander nor Jomshof have commented on the matter further.
