In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump accuses Google of showing positive news stories about Harris while highlighting negative news about himself.
«It has come to light that Google has improperly used a system to to show only negative stories about Donald J. Trump, some of them fabricated for this purpose, while only showing positive stories of our friend Kamala Harris,» writes Trump.
Trump bases his accusation on a study by the conservative research council Media Research Center (MRC).
According to the MRC's report, Google should have shown articles favoring Harris above Trump's own campaign site when users searched for «Donald Trump presidential race 2024», writes MSNBC.< /p>
Trump says if the Justice Department doesn't charge Google over this, he will force an indictment when he becomes president again.
Google has dismissed the allegations, explaining that both candidates' campaign sites appear high in search results for relevant searches.
A spokesperson for the left-leaning company said the MRC report is based on an unusual search query and that the report's conclusions are wrong.
Google insists it does not manipulate search results to favor any candidate.
Kamala Harris' campaign has not commented on Trump's allegations, while Trump's own campaign has yet to provide an official response.
