Domestic. The police managed to stop a man in his 40s who tried to drive away from an illegal street race outside Umeå on Saturday. But before that, they chased the driver at upwards of 200 kilometers per hour, writes the Västerbottens courier.

On Saturday evening at 10 p.m., an unauthorized street took place race on the E4 south of Umeå.
Several residents in the area near the Avion shopping center reported loud engine noises and jerking starts, which led to the police quickly sending a patrol to the scene.
When the police arrived they were met those of a large number of vehicles and people gathered for the spontaneous car race.
According to Johan Lindgren, commander at the police's regional command center, the police had difficulty getting through the number of vehicles, writes the Västerbottens-Kuriren.
In the end, they managed to start a chase after two cars that quickly drove away south on the E4.
The pursuit went at speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour, but the police managed to stop one of the cars after a short chase .
The driver, a man in his 40s, was immediately suspected of negligence in traffic and had his driver's license confiscated on the spot.
However, the other car managed to escape and the police are continuing the search.
A resident in the area told the media that the engine sounds were unusually loud and lasted for about 15 minutes.

No one was injured during the incident.
