SD and the government more than double the Equality Authority

Domestic. Close the Equality Authority, was the election promise from SD, KD and M. But in the autumn budget that was released today, it appears that the Sweden Democrats and the government will instead double the size of the authority.

The grant is increased from 73.4 million kroner this year to a breathtaking 166 million tax kroner in 2025 and approx. 170 million per year for the years 2026 and 2027.

Actually, SD, M and KD managed to “shut down” the authority already in 2018, when a bourgeois budget was voted through in the Riksdag's labor market committee.

The media fell for the hoax and reported that the authority was being closed down, but once the issue was decided by the Riksdag, the authority remained.

Ahead of the 2022 election, SD, M and KD again promised that the authority would be shut down – this time for real – in the event of an election victory. However, it didn't happen that way, formally because the Liberals got in the way.

But now it is clear not only that the authority will remain, but that it will more than double in size.

In social media, there are not very many people who are surprised, because the Tidö parties have so far not achieved much of what they promised before the election. One who is surprised, however, is the liberal opinion leader Per Gudmundson.

“Still a bit unexpected that a right-wing government more than doubles the Equality Authority”, he writes on X.

He gets an answer from Riksdag member Josef Fransson (SD), who blames others in the party.

” I haven't negotiated that,” he replies.

Sven Andersson states that the Tidö parties are “sass in blue suits” and do not want to change anything beyond purely symbolic measures.

” Then they brag that the aid will be reduced, in the last year of the term and only 5%”, he notes.

The signature adult daycare, on the other hand, gives the new Moderates praise for getting the SD to run over their voters on the issue .
