The Green Party is growing and is now reaching its highest level since January 2016, according to the latest voter barometer from DN/Ipsos.

The party gets 7 percent in the September poll, which is partly at the expense of the Social Democrats, who continue to lose support.

– The Green Party's success can partly be attributed to the change of mouthpiece, where Amanda Lind took over from Märta Stenevi earlier this year, which led to a change in the party's communication with more focus on climate issues. At the same time, the criticism of the Tidö government's climate policy has given the party extra traction, says Nicklas Källebring, an opinion analyst at Ipsos, to Dagens Nyheter.

The decline of the Green Party after the autumn of 2015, when they were forced to agree to strictures in migration policy, has been painful for the party's immigration-loving voters and MPs were blocked by the Riksdag on several occasions.

Now, however, the Green Party faces a different development.

The Social Democrats, on the other hand, continue their decline and land at 31 percent, the lowest rating since the election .

At the same time, it is noted that the Sweden Democrats are making some progress, with 21 percent in September, while the Moderates are stagnant at 19 percent.

The two other government parties, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats, are around the Riksdag barrier with 3 and 4 percent respectively.

The survey was conducted by Ipsos between September 3 and 15 with a sample of 1,595 eligible voters.
