Kristersson: The state is not involved in Northvolt

Economy. The state will not step in as an owner of the crisis-hit battery manufacturer Northvolt, announced Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M). Thus, the clock continues to tick for the crisis-stricken sustainability giant, reports Dagens Industri.

– Right now the ball is entirely in the hands of Northvolt's owners, says Kristersson.

The Social Democrats, whose party leader Magdalena Andersson had previously been very positive about the tax-financed investments in the so-called green transition, have now had enough and are taking the government's line on the issue, reports Dagens Industri. Nor does S therefore want the state to take over parts of Northvolt.

On Sunday, however, the Green Party's economic policy spokesperson Janine Alm Ericson said that the state should be ready to invest money in Northvolt.

– I think it's so important that you don't just dismiss it, she said in an interview with DI this weekend.

The Social Democrats have previously been very positive about the tax-financed investments in the so-called green transition.
