During a visit at a holocaust museum in Sered, Slovakia, Fico pointed out that some Ukrainian troops use Nazi symbols.

– We all talk about fascism and Nazism while quietly accepting the fact that there are soldiers running around in Ukraine with very clear symbols, which are linked to movements that we today consider very dangerous and forbidden, Fico said according to local media.

This drew strong criticism from Kiev, where the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expressed disappointment and pointed out that Ukrainian soldiers are defending their country against Russian invaders.

Ukraine's Nazi elements have previously created tensions between Slovakia and Ukraine, and the latest statement risks further worsening relations.
