Domestic. The Liberal Youth League (Luf) is not happy that Germany's S government has been so frightened by the successes of the anti-immigration AFD that they have introduced border controls around the whole of Germany. Now the liberal youth want Sweden to work for Germany to be sued in the European Court of Justice.

Carl Sträng, legal and EU policy spokesperson for LUF , states in a text on Europaportalen that there is a «significant risk» of a domino effect where other states also begin to introduce border controls within the EU.
«Certainly there are those voters and politicians who are fanatically against immigration. But then they have to pursue policy about the EU's external borders — or be open that they are completely against European cooperation, because you cannot be part of the EU and ignore the treaties,» he writes further.
< p>Carl Sträng also states that states that violate EU treaties normally do not risk being sued by ordinary citizens, but that a member state's government can use the European Court of Justice to sue another member state's government for treaty violations.
< p>«Sweden's government should therefore immediately abolish its border controls against Denmark and threaten to sue in the European Court of Justice all the governments that introduce and forever extend border controls», writes Sträng.
