The war budget: 15 billion a year for civil defense

According to the government's Powerpoint is this “the biggest rearmament of the civil defense since the Cold War”.

In addition to the initial stage of the war, the money must also be sufficient for “an increased ability to ensure a certain endurance in a more protracted course”, according to the government .

– These sectors are particularly important for building a basic robustness in society, if there is an armed attack against Sweden, says Minister of Civil Defense Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), who, however, has no military experience himself .

Of the allocation, however, only 1.4 billion goes to population protection, while the largest items are “healthcare” and “other”. Otherwise, public order and grants to voluntary defense organisations, banks and the protection of cultural heritage are included, for example.
