– These homes should not exist, they should be closed, says Camilla Waltersson Grönvall to SVT.

The police report, which mapped the situation within HVB homes in the country, reveals that criminal networks not only own and operate some of these homes, but also staff them with members from criminal groups.< /p>

Camilla Waltersson Grönvall claims to be “maddened” by what appears in the report.

– It is completely unacceptable that criminals penetrate various parts of welfare and that it is Swedish tax money who pays for it, she says and continues:

– But what makes me even crazier is the fact that it is about community care, especially vulnerable children and young people who should feel safe are instead exploited.

She emphasizes that the government plans to tighten the legislation to enable a better exchange of information between authorities and give the Care Inspectorate (Ivo) increased resources to deal with the problem.

Sara Persson from the Ecocrime Authority points out that the problem is well known and not limited to HVB homes, but also occurs within the rest of the welfare system.
