Tulsi Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in 2022 and became an independent, has become known for his sharp criticism of his former party colleagues and his opposition to war. She has singled out the party as a nest for warmongering woke fanatics.
During her speech at the National Guard Association conference in Detroit, Gabbard emphasized that Trump sees war as a “last resort” and that he understands the big responsibility that a president has for the lives of soldiers. She contrasted this with current Vice President Kamala Harris, who she says lacks the same understanding.
Gabbard, who himself served in the Hawaii National Guard and was stationed in Iraq, has in recent years become a prominent voice in conservative circles and has previously also expressed interest in becoming Trump's vice presidential candidate.
Her announcement comes shortly after Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who ran as an independent candidate in the presidential election, announced that he is dropping out and giving his support for Donald Trump.
