In the past, truck driving was a male-dominated work in Ukraine but as a result of the war, the country has started to have a shortage of men, and therefore women are now being trained in the profession.
– It is believed that it is a heavy job because only men do it. But I've been driving for a while now and there's nothing heavy about this, says one of the women to Radio Free Europe.
Even within the electricians' guild, women are starting to make an entrance.
– With all these men who have gone to war, vacancies arose, and I got the job, Julia Vovtjenko, one of the new electricians, told RFE.
