“Parents of gang criminals under the age of 15 who refuse to cooperate with the authorities shall be held responsible through cognizable fines or withdrawn contributions,” Jomshof writes.
This is part of the party's “broader investment” in combating crime by also punishing the relatives and close associates of the criminals.
Furthermore, the SD proposes that young people under the age of 15 who are gang criminals should be placed in compulsory schools with strict discipline, while those over the age of 15 should be transferred to family homes.
This is to break recruitment into criminal environments and “give young people a new chance “, according to Jomshof.
In the debate post, Jomshof emphasizes that Sweden is now facing an urgent situation where extraordinary measures are required to restore safety and security in the country.
“With greatly increased penalties, expanded tools for the justice system and historic budget investments, we want to restore safety and security in the country,” he writes.
SD's proposal to stop grants is part of a wider package of measures that includes tougher penalties, expanded powers for the judiciary and opportunities to revoke citizenship for gang criminals. The goal is to make life as a gang criminal impossible and tighten the responsibility even for those who support or help these individuals.
