Foreign. NATO has raised the security level at the airfield in Geilenkirchen, Germany, as a precaution after a possible threat was identified.

According to the German newspaper Focus has sent home all staff not essential to day-to-day operations.
A NATO spokesperson stresses that this should not cause concern, but is a measure to ensure the base's critical operations can continue without interruption.
The decision comes in the wake of several sabotage incidents against NATO bases in Germany in the past week, including one targeting the water system at a German military base.
