Joakim Paasikivi is a very well-known face to the Swedes after appearing almost daily in the media as an expert on the Ukraine war and declaring that Ukraine is about to win.
He has previously expressed that his retirement would not mean a definitive end of his work. In an earlier statement to Expressen, he told us that he would continue with many of the issues he had already dealt with, but in new contexts.
– Among other things, I will give lectures for the business community, and get paid for the lectures to a greater extent, he said then.
In a press release from SRI, Paasikivi expresses his enthusiasm about the new assignment. He emphasizes the company's importance to Sweden's security.
– SRI is a tone-setting actor with a clear and important purpose where they want to contribute to a safer Sweden, something that is close to my heart. I understand that SRI's work with, among other things, environmental monitoring and monitoring of threat actors, training efforts as well as their other product portfolio creates great value and important decision-making basis for Swedish businesses. I look forward to contributing together with SRI's management and other advisors, says Joakim Paasikivi.

Anders Selvehed, CEO at SRI, comments:
– Too many people do not need Joakim Paasikivi and what he can contribute any further explanation. If you have had the privilege of taking part in Joakim's analyses, you have probably also appreciated his ability to explain connections, risks and geopolitical challenges, or his deep knowledge of military strategy and history that helps us understand the world today and what we can expect going forward. We are extremely happy that Joakim chose to become part of SRI and our Advisory board.
