The Crown Princess begins officer training

Domestic. Today, Crown Princess Victoria began special officer training (SOFU). She states that she wants to further deepen her involvement within the Armed Forces and gain a deeper understanding of tactics, military science and military strategy.

The training is described as part of the crown princess's endeavor to continuously broaden her knowledge in preparation for her future mission as head of state.

– Min ambition is now to put all my energy into officer training in order to be able to represent Sweden and the Armed Forces in the best way in the future. I look forward to an interesting and rewarding period of study together with my new coursemates, says Crown Princess Victoria in a statement.

Special officer training is aimed at people who already have an academic degree. The training contains both theoretical and practical parts.

Parts of the training are carried out at the Norwegian Defense Academy on behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces. But large parts of SOFU are also conducted at the various units of the Armed Forces.

During the training, the Crown Princess holds the rank of cadet.
