Domestic. The prosecutors have today filed charges against eight people for involvement in three bombings that occurred in the fall of 2023 in Hässelby, Linköping and Fullerö.

The On September 25, 2023, an explosion occurred in an apartment building in Hässelby, Stockholm municipality, on September 26, an explosion occurred in an apartment building in Linköping, and on September 28, an explosion occurred between two villas in Fullerö, southwest of Storvreta in Uppsala municipality.
Several people were injured in the bombing and a 24-year-old woman died in Fullerö.
– In connection with the analysis of mobile phones seized in Uppsala, it became clear that the three explosions were connected, as two of the perpetrators were clearly were involved in all three explosions and that they received instructions via mobile phone from the same instigator, says senior prosecutor Thomas Bälter, preliminary investigation leader in the Fullerö investigation.
That is why the three preliminary investigation leaders chose to conduct the investigation together and that the trial would be held jointly at the Uppsala district court.
The defendants include a man born in 2001 living in Kalix who is accused of having detonated all three bombs. He and the other defendants are charged with serious crimes such as murder, attempted murder, aggravated destruction of public property and violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
– The success of the investigation is based on a combination of witness statements from the public, a active intervention by police officers on external duty, solid investigation and analysis work and good help from surveillance footage, says senior prosecutor Thomas Bälter.
The main hearing starts on August 12 in Uppsala District Court.
