The government is working hard with developing a new comprehensive action plan that “aims to consolidate, supplement and gather strength the work” with HBTQp during 2024–2027.
Until then, they talk about a series of other measures they have taken:
* On June 20, the government decided on an action program to prevent and combat “men's violence against women”, including among “LGBTQI people”.
* The Authority for Youth and Civil Society Affairs (MUCF) has been tasked with strengthening the conditions to “create and maintain physical and digital meeting places for young LGBTQ people”. The assignment includes updating the mapping of these meeting places and implementing skills development efforts for various actors at municipal level.
* MUCF is also tasked with implementing efforts to promote “an open and inclusive school environment for young LGBTQ people”. Among other things, the assignment has resulted in the training package Open the school, which consists of four web-based training courses aimed at school staff, students and guardians.
* The Equality Authority has been tasked with supporting the work of young people who have been exposed to violence in close relationships. The authority must produce, disseminate and make available support material for professionals and carry out competence-enhancing efforts. The authority must also submit proposals on how the work to prevent and detect violence in young people's close relationships can be improved. Exposure to violence in “particularly vulnerable groups” such as “LGBTQI people” must be taken into account.
* The Public Health Agency has been tasked with compiling the state of knowledge and identifying knowledge gaps regarding “equal conditions for health as well as living conditions and lifestyles among LGBTQI people”. The authority must, among other things, investigate the underlying reasons why the conditions for health are different.
* The National Board of Health and Welfare is tasked with “strengthening LGBTQ competence within care and care for older people”, where the authority must develop and disseminate knowledge-raising material about LGBTQ issues in connection with care and social care for elderly people.
* Furthermore, the National Board of Health and Welfare must carry out an information effort aimed at health and social care personnel who in their work meet people with gender dysphoria. The aim is for people with gender dysphoria to receive better treatment in healthcare. The authority must also develop the follow-up of “trans care” and propose a method with the aim of long-term mapping of the prescription of puberty-inhibiting and gender-contrary drugs to people with gender dysphoria.
