Two children dead after British knife attack – teenager arrested

Foreign. At least two children were killed and nine others injured in a knife attack during a Taylor Swift event in Southport, England on Monday. A 17-year-old boy has been arrested – but the police are keeping quiet about him.

Of the injured, six children are seriously injured, Police Chief Serena Kennedy announced at a press conference.

Two adults were also seriously injured. Police Chief Kennedy praised their courage:

– We believe that the adults bravely tried to protect the children who were attacked.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. According to the police, he must have wandered into the event and started attacking the children with a knife.

The police have not released the 17-year-old's identity, which has led to speculation on social media.

The motive behind the attack is still unclear, but the police are not investigating the incident as an act of terrorism. The suspect, who is said to be originally from Cardiff, today lives in the village of Banks on the outskirts of Southport.
