Voronovska, who comes from Ukraine and calls herself a beautician, has set off a wave of speculation on social media with people wondering how her skincare skills might come in handy as she assists Donald Tusk.
Since May 7, 2024, Voronovska has served as Tusk's adviser.
In addition to her political commitments and work as a beautician, the woman also runs a popular Instagram account. However, following increased public interest, she has changed her account settings from public to private.
Many are now speculating about the importance of the woman to Tusk and his liberal government. Not least when Tusk recently made a somewhat strange decision to suddenly lower VAT for the beauty industry.
“Now it gets interesting. Donald Tusk's assistant belongs to an organization that fights for lower VAT for the beauty industry,” wrote the member of parliament Radosław Fogiel of Conservative Law and Justice (PiS) at X.
The internet has exploded with questions about Voronovska's origins, family connections and potential influence on political decisions. Reports suggest that Kristina Voronovska was formerly known as Kristina Potopalska, born in 1989 in Międzyrzecz, Poland, near a then-active Russian military base.
Journalists are now investigating her parents' activities during that period and whether it has any relevance to her current position.
