In a post on his own social media platform Truth Social, on Thursday, Donald Trump posted a clip from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In the video, Netanyahu claims that Israel's mortal enemy Iran has “threatened to assassinate President Trump”.
Donald Trump comments on the clip as follows:
“If they 'assassin President Trump', which is always a possibility, I hope the US wipes Iran off the face of the earth – if that doesn't happen, US leaders will be seen as 'Cowardly' cowards!”
Donald Trump often portrays himself as a politician who is in favor of peace and has this time promised that he will end the war in Ukraine. On the other hand, the 78-year-old politician is dependent on his Jewish donors who are often interested in the United States going to war against countries in the Middle East for the sake of Israel. Among other things, casino widow Miriam Adelson has donated the equivalent of over one billion kroner to Trump's campaign. When her husband, the late mogul Sheldon Adelson, donated money to Donald Trump in 2016, it resulted, among other things, in the US approving Israel's annexation of the Golan Heights and moving its embassy to Jerusalem – actions that have been criticized for having led to increased tensions in the area.
