It was just millimeters away from Donald Trump's head exploding live on July 13th. Instead, the bullet superficially hit Trump's ear.
In the US, there are many on the left who have not hidden their disappointment that the presidential candidate survived.
That attitude is also visible in public opinion. According to a poll conducted by Unherd, a third of Democratic voters in a July 18 snap poll openly agreed with the statement: “I wish Trump's assassins hadn't missed”.
Trump hatred remains strong among left-wing voters in the US, but Donald Trump has at the same time made a kind of peace with the American establishment and the American media is now significantly more positive in its reporting on him than in previous years. Trump is running this year on a platform that, with a few exceptions, is basically indistinguishable from the Republican Party establishment line.
