Domestic. 311 kilos of cannabis resin were smuggled into Sweden via the Öresund Bridge, and then hidden in a wooded area – while customs watched. Now three men from Lithuania and Belarus are being prosecuted.

On March 9, a Belarusian driver with a Lithuanianregistered truck came to the Oresund Bridge. The customs officials discovered a discrepancy at the fuel tank with 311 kilos of cannabis resin and followed the crew.
First the legal cargo was delivered in Uppsala, then the truck was followed to Dalarövägen south of Stockholm.
The truck was parked in a parking space. at Dalarövägen. Early in the morning of March 15, Customs inspectors observed various metallic sounds with subsequent rustling at the truck. They also saw that the driver went into the forest with bags on several occasions. The driver then left the scene.
The customs personnel made a raid and found the stash of drugs in the forest. The drugs were hidden under tarpaulins in about fifteen ICA bags and black garbage bags and were hidden with moss and fir branches. A shovel was also found in the hiding place.
On March 13, the two Lithuanian men in the case arrived by plane from Lithuania to Arlanda. The men are suspected of having helped with various purchases.
Three men aged 41, 48 and 58 are now being charged on suspicion of particularly serious drug smuggling and particularly serious drug crime.
The two the Lithuanian men are suspected of helping to procure bags, shovels and tarpaulins. The criminal suspicion for them is particularly serious drug crime.
All three suspects deny any crime. If the men are convicted, they risk several years in prison.
The value of the drugs is estimated at around SEK 38.9 million in street value.
