The new group, Europe of Sovereign Nations, according to Euronews, consists of eight parties.

There are, among others, the Hungarian Värt hemland and the Polish Confederation – both far to the right.

The Polish anti-Semite Grzegorz Braun, however, did not get be with. There, AFD put its foot down. Braun caused an international stir in December when he interrupted a Jewish ceremony with a fire extinguisher.

The group, which has 25 members from eight countries, will be the most right-wing in the European Parliament.

AFD was apparently not included in the party group that Viktor Orbán has initiated, Patriots of Europe. Just before the EU elections, AFD was excluded from the former party group Identity and Democracy, ID, following pressure from the French National Assembly, which is now part of Orbán's group.
