“Dear left-liberal media and opposition, sorry that I survived, but I'm back.”
So writes Robert Fico in a post on Facebook, where he also posted a picture showing him sitting at a desk and looking ready to resume work as prime minister.
Fico was shot several times in an attack on 15 May. He has spent the past two months recovering from his injuries.
The Slovak prime minister on Tuesday attended his first parliamentary meeting since the attack. On Friday, he also made his first public appearance and gave a speech in which he praised, among other things, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's efforts to bring peace by visiting Kiev and Moscow.
On Monday, Fico visited a field, attended at a photo shoot during the rye harvest and reiterated that Slovakia will continue to ban the import of certain agricultural products from Ukraine.
