Spotify removes Russian artists

Cultural news. Spotify has removed music from various Russian artists from its service, reports Sveriges Radio.

The artists who have been removed must have expressed support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine and be subject to EU sanctions, according to Billboard.

These are popular artists such as Grigory Leps, Oleg Gazmanov, Shaman and Polina Gagarina.

A A Spotify spokesperson tells Billboard that the company always removes content that violates the platform's guidelines or local laws.
