Foreign. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán states that during his visit to Kiev he proposed a peace plan to Ukrainian President Zelenskyi.

On social media, Viktor Orbán summarizes his message during the meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyj.
“I evaluated the possibility of a time-bound ceasefire that could mean an opportunity to speed up the peace negotiations. I will immediately report my findings to the Council,” he writes.
Orbán's trip takes place after Hungary took over the rotating presidency within the EU. It is his first visit to Ukraine after Russia's invasion in 2022.
Hungary announced before taking over the membership that it regards peace and security in Europe as the most important issue. Hungary's slogan as the country of the presidency is “Make Europe great again”.
