OnePlus has announced the Ace 3 Pro in China, its first smartphone with Glacier Battery. The battery with a capacity of 6100mAh has a different chemical composition and should still have 80 percent of its capacity after four years.
The new chemical composition ensures a higher density of the battery, which means a higher capacity in the same volume is possible. OnePlus guarantees that the Glacier Battery will retain 80 percent of its original capacity after four years. The battery charges at 100W and goes from empty to full in 36 minutes.
The Ace 3 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC from Qualcomm, combined with a maximum of 24GB of lpddr5x memory and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The standard version has 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage.
The screen is a 6.78″ OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a resolution of 2780×1264 pixels. The phone has a primary 50-megapixel camera with f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide-angle lens and a macro camera. There is no camera with a telephoto lens.
The cheapest version is available for 3200 yuan, currently equivalent to approximately 410 euros. The most expensive version will cost 4399 yuan, currently equivalent to 565 euros. Chinese manufacturers charge lower prices in their home country and OnePlus usually does not release its Ace smartphones in Europe.
