Meta confirms Instagram bug that limits political content by default

Instagram and Threads currently limit the recommendation of political content, even if the user chooses to see this content via the opt-in menu. Meta says it is working on a solution, but does not provide further details.

Meta has been limiting the recommendation of political content by default since February of this year and users can choose to remove this restriction via an opt-in option . Currently, this setting may continually reset to the default setting, which is limiting political content, Meta confirmed on Threads. This includes content in the Discover, Reels tabs, recommendations in the feed and suggested users.
