Åkesson: “We will become the new school party”

Domestic. Jimmie Åkesson buried the issue of immigration and crime and instead fought for the right to run privately owned independent schools during his speech in Almedalen today. According to him, the Sweden Democrats should become “the new school party” – something that characterized his entire speech in Visby.

The SD leader said in his speech that his party won the debate on immigration and criminal policy, and that it is now time to win also on the school issue.

– The Swedish school is in free fall, said Jimmie Åkesson.

SD must “own and win the debate about the school”, according to the party leader.

– When Sweden goes to the elections in 2026, the Sweden Democrats must be the party for knowledge and learning. The Sweden Democrats should be the school party, said Jimmie Åkesson.

He accused the other parties of the decay within the school.

– The same old parties that have criticized us Sweden Democrats for never talking about preventive measures, it is the same old parties that destroyed all forms of discipline and order in the Swedish school.

SD wants to see a tougher grip on schools, among other things by giving teachers increased disciplinary powers and sending rowdy students to special compulsory schools. In his speech, Jimmie Åkesson also defended the system of privately owned free schools.
