FromSoftware has warned players about a bug that makes the Steam Deck version of Elden Ring unplayable. The bug is in the update to version 1.12. The developer is working on a bug fix, but it is not yet clear when the bug will be resolved.
FromSoftware reports via social media platform X that the bug can occur when the Steam Deck is inactive for more than five minutes. The bug then prevents the game from processing input, making it unplayable. The developer promises to notify players when the bug fix becomes available.
The bug comes at an unfortunate time. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will be released on Friday. This contains new locations, weapons, armor, enemies and bosses. FromSoftware says Shadow of the Erdtree is the largest expansion the studio has ever worked on. Tweakers has published a review about the DLC.
