The Gazet van Antwerpen, among others, writes that Game Mania has been granted a postponement of payment of a corporate court in Antwerp. The store chain is protected from creditors for the time being and a buyer is currently being sought. The company attributes this development to 'digitalization of the video games industry and the highly competitive retail landscape'. For the time being, the stores remain open and the online store available.

Game Mania was founded in 1992 and focuses on the sale of video games and board games. At its peak, the chain had almost 90 stores in Belgium and the Netherlands, but had to close several branches in recent years. The company increasingly focused on the online store.
