“Girl-Hitlers have a special place in hell”, read the headline of the editorial by Susanna Popova, which was published on November 26, 2023.

For “girl-Hitlers,” it “doesn't matter that Hamas kidnaps, rapes and murders women, as long as the women are also Jewish,” wrote the liberal editorial writer.

Susanna Popova singled out Greta Thunberg, but also the artist Stina Wollter and writers in the women's group Pink Room on Facebook.

Stina Wollter reported Svenska Dagbladet to the Media Ombudsman (MO) and the Chancellor of Justice after the publication.

MO states that SvD “crossed a media ethical boundary when the newspaper used a very offensive expression about the complainant in combination with the claim of her indifference to reckless violence against Jewish women”.

The Media Ethics Board shares MO's assessment and blames SvD for having violated good journalistic practice.
