It was on Christmas Day that the five defendants, together with others, visited Restaurant Atmosfär in Malmö.

During the meal, the group ordered food and drinks to a value of SEK 82,157. Among other things, champagne from the brand Dom Pérignon for SEK 8,300 and large quantities of spirits – such as 104 (!) hotshots for SEK 100 each.

After the feast, they claimed that payment had been agreed via invoice – but no payment was ever made .

According to the prosecutor, the fraud was carefully planned and carried out with “special planning”. The defendants had created a non-profit association for purported charitable purposes which is said to have been used as a tool to carry out the crime. These circumstances mean that the prosecutor assesses the crime as serious.

But it is far from ending there. During the spring, the investigation has grown to include around 20 gross frauds against various entrepreneurs. According to the prosecutor, it involves fraud for over one million kroner during the period August 2022 to March 2024.

According to the indictment, the Roma have systematically used non-profit associations to order goods that they never paid for from various shops and restaurants.< /p>

The prosecutor demands that two of the defendants, both women, be deported to Slovakia where they are citizens.
