Theft wave of luxury cars – those brands are affected

Since April this year, the police have received a number of reports about thefts of luxury cars around the country.

The car brands that have been involved in the thefts are Range Rover and Dodge RAM. These cars have a value of up to three million kroner each.

The police in the central region now want to draw the attention of car owners to this in order to prevent further crime.

The suspicion on the part of the police is that it are two thieves working together. The approach has been a form of relay control. A person positions himself at the front door and uses digital equipment to locate the car key. Information is then passed on to the next person who can then both open and start the car.

The police suspect that it may be the same perpetrators as the approach is the same.

The police urge car owners to keep his car key as a valuable, preferably in a metal can to block the signal. The spare key should also be stored in the same way. You can check if it works by taking the metal can with the key out to the car and trying to open the car.
