“Swedish gangs” biggest threat in Northern Norway

The problem is said to be greatest in the district Troms.

– We assess that the Swedish criminal networks constitute the greatest criminal threat in the Troms police district, said police inspector Yngve Myrvoll at a press conference on Wednesday.

The police emphasize that young people in Norway are recruited to these Swedish networks, and mentions the gangs Foxtrot and the Gottsunda network.

These gangs are also involved in extensive drug trafficking and fraud in Norway that generate large sums of money, according to the police.

The police's strategy going forward will to focus on stopping further recruitment to these criminal gangs, according to Myrvoll.
