For some time now, thieves have targeted on stealing mobile phones using the so-called patch trick.
The thefts have taken place at various restaurants in central Stockholm, according to the police.
On Saturday, a man was the victim of a theft at a restaurant . Two women unknown to him came forward and placed a map on his table and pretended to ask for help to find a certain place. When the women left the table, the man's mobile phone that was under the map had also disappeared. He then took up the hunt for the women and managed to catch one of them and hand her over to the police, who shortly afterwards arrived on the scene.
The woman is now under arrest on suspicion of grand theft after stealing the mobile phone in the man's immediate vicinity proximity.
The days before, another perpetrator was arrested after stealing a mobile phone with a similar crime pattern. The perpetrator is now in custody.
