Economy. Swedish economy – gross domestic product (GDP) – decreased by 0.7 percent in April compared to the previous month, new preliminary statistics from Statistics Sweden (SCB) show.

It can be compared with a reduction of revised 0.4 percent in March.
“Activity in the Swedish economy weakened somewhat during the first month of the second quarter. The development is explained, among other things, by a decline in household consumption and somewhat weaker production in the business world,” says Melker Loberg, national economist at Statistics Norway, in a press release.
The monthly GDP indicator is based on a more limited basis than the regular quarterly figures.
