Sedition lawsuit against government after illegal immigrant kills Polish soldier

The border guard in Poland has published on social media images of the weapon, a homemade spear with a knife, which was allegedly used in the attack.

“We regret to inform you that a stabbed soldier from the 1st Armored Brigade has died on June 6 at afternoon at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw, surrounded by the support of his family and soldiers,” said a written statement from the Polish General Staff on Thursday.

Poland's liberal Prime Minister Donald Tusk said last week that the coverage of the border with the neighboring country was expanded after the events.

Since then, the government's military police have arrested Polish soldiers who fired warning shots at aggressive illegal immigrants, writes Remix News. The soldiers are suspected of illegal use of firearms and of causing danger to others.

It is unclear if the soldiers will actually be prosecuted, but Donald Tusk's hard line against soldiers who actually defend the border, and not just pose at it , has already stirred up bad blood within its own armed forces.

Robert Wyrostkiewicz, a journalist and soldier in the Polish army, has posted a video on social media that he admits is illegal because he did not get permission to release it .

“But it must have happened. Regular soldiers were handcuffed by military police because they had the guts to shoot in the air to deter 50 illegal immigrants. Soldiers don't have firearms for no reason, they are there to help them to guard our borders and to be able to hold their positions if necessary,” says Wyrostkiewicz in the video.
