XMG will release AMD and Intel Ultrabooks without separate GPUs in July

XMG has presented two new EVO Ultrabook laptops that do not contain a separate video card. The EVO 14 and 15 are supplied with an Intel Core or AMD Ryzen SoC with an IGPU, where previous EVO models still had a dedicated GPU.

XMG is showing the two new models at the Computex fair in Taiwan. These are two largely the same laptops, the main difference being the size of the display, after which the EVO 14 and EVO 15 are also named. The smaller model is 14″ in size and the screen has a brightness of 400cd/m², while the larger model has a screen of 15.3″ with a slightly higher brightness of 500cd/m². The EVO 15 model also has a 99.8Wh battery, while the EVO 14 has to make do with 80Wh.

Furthermore, the models have the same specifications, including the same screen ratio of 16:10. The most striking part of the Ultrabooks is precisely what is missing. While in the past XMG supplied its laptops with a separate GPU, such as an RTX or Radeon card, this is not the case with the EVO Ultrabooks. The laptops can be supplied with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with an Intel Arc GPU, or with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS with a Radeon 780M as an integrated GPU.

Many other specifications about the new Ultrabook models are still missing. Tweakers did spot the models on the exhibition floor, where we could see that the laptops still have many connectivity ports, such as an Ethernet port and an HDMI port at the back. The models are thinner than their predecessors and weigh 1.4 and 1.65 kg. The laptops will be released in July. The cheapest configurations have 16GB of memory and a 500GB SSD. The EVO 14 costs 949 euros for the AMD variant and 1099 euros for the Intel variant. The EVO 15 costs 100 euros more: 1049 euros for the AMD model and 1199 euros for the Intel model.
