Bioware renames Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and broadcasts livestream on June 11

Bioware has changed the name of the unreleased RPG Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to Dragon Age: The Veilguard. In addition, the developer reports that a live stream of the game will be broadcast on June 11 at 5:00 PM Dutch time.

The name was changed because Bioware did not think the old title fit well with the game and the new characters. writes the studio on Thursday. “Obviously the Dread Wolf still plays an important role in this story, but you and your companions (not your enemies) are the core of this new game,” Bioware said. Furthermore, the developer shares a few details in the blog post. In addition to the main character, there are seven other characters who accompany the player through the world of Thedas.

On June 11 at 5 p.m., Bioware will broadcast a livestream showing fifteen minutes of gameplay. This can be followed via the official Dragon Age channel on YouTube. It is not yet known when the game will be released.

The fourth Dragon Age game was already announced in 2018. After that, there was little news about the game for two years. In 2020, Bioware indicated that it was still working on Dragon Age 4 by providing a behind-the-scenes look. The title Dragon Age: Dreadwolf was announced in 2022 and a short teaser was shared at The Game Awards last December.
